Music monday!

December 14, 2009

It´s Monday, and oh boy, what better way to get off your I-hate-Monday-buzz than listening to good music.

The following song is from Adem. It’s called Statued and it’s featured on the soundtrack of “Dead Man’s Shoes”. The movie is worth watching but the soundtrack may be better. This song maybe won’t clear your I-hate-Monday-buzz but it’s definitely beautiful.

Adem – Statued

Another one of my favorites lately are the Talking Heads. This new-wave band was found in 1974 and made some great albums. The song I love the most must be “Psycho Killer”.. Specially this live recorded version. They don´t make this shit anymore. Great song to wake up with.. FA FA FA FA FA FAFAFAFA FARRR BETTER!

The last song I want to share with you is a well known song. This is the kind of music you want to hear on vinyl when you get home from work on Monday, light up a cigarette and pour in a glass of wine or a beer, and sit in your big chair. Jefferson Airplane, what´s not to love.

Tom Ford movie

December 14, 2009

Tom Ford, best known as creative director for labels as Gucci and YSL and his own label Tom Ford, directed a movie called “A Single Man”. The movie is based on the novel of the same name by Christopher Isherwood. I´m quite curious.

Check out the (very short) trailer.

Where’s my Spray on Condom?

December 13, 2009

Could anybody tell me what happened to one of the best ideas EVER; the Spray on Condom (that even sounds great, I mean come on).

I don’t like condoms. What I do like is spraying stuff. So Jan Vinzenz Krause get to work. I wanna! In black too please.

Bonk Bonk Bonk Bonk the Kitty

December 12, 2009

I have to admit it. I’m fascinated by YouTube movies which feature… Kitty’s. I don’t know why. I caught myself looking at “super adorable kitten movies” for four hours. Super cute adorable kitty’s. And it’s not only me. This particular one..

Has been viewed over ELEVEN MILLION TIMES. It makes me wonder.

And there’s more. Like Bonk Bonk Bonk Bonk. Bonk Bonk Bonk Bonk is the “cutest kitty evar” and he has his own YouTube channel.

I’m sorry about that. That’s just gay. (Enjoy, I know you’ll watch ‘em more than once.)

Why are we as human beings so taken by little fuzzy animals? As Im writing this I realize that’s not the most important thing. We could use kitty’s like Bonk Bonk Bonk Bonk to heal the world. Would you go out and smack someone in the face after seeing a video of “the cutest kitty evar”? Hell no. Maybe it’s time for YouTube to grow a sac and start changing the world instead of making money.

Amen.

Jan Rothuizen is an Amsterdam-based artist. While working in an attic trying to be really-super-artist-like creative he realized his greatest inspiration was the city of Amsterdam, the people of Amsterdam and the buildings of Amsterdam; just Amsterdam in general.. So he mapped his city, the city he grew up and loves, in the way he sees it.

It’s great to see to how he pays so much attention to details. See for yourself.
